1865 Prelusion

Packaging design

There is a moment before everything begins. A prelude. That was the idea behind this wine: to be the gateway to the high-end universe of 1865.

But what does a prelude look like? How do you design a beginning?

The challenge proposed to us by Viña San Pedro (VSPT) was enormous. We had to create a visual identity for a product that not only had to stand out on the shelf, but also had to feel like the first chapter of a bigger story. We needed a design that communicated the superior quality of the wine while telling the “Prelusion” concept without words. Packaging that didn’t just dress the product, but projected a lifestyle.

What we did.

For us, the key was in the details. If 1865 Prelusion is the beginning of everything, its design had to be a statement of principles. We decided to move away from traditional wine codes and build a universe of its own.

The solution was in the symbology: we took the rhombus shape to represent the beginning and the end, the complete cycle. The literary concept became our guide, envisioning the label as the pages of a book about to be opened.

We brought the idea from paper to reality, but gave it a premium twist. We didn’t want a simple label; we wanted a tactile experience.

We combined a base of deep blacks with flashes of red to create an elegant and bold contrast. We applied an arsenal of finishes: stamping, embossing, and volumetric screen printing to give it a three-dimensionality that invites touch. The final touch was a “melted foil” that simulates molten gold, a detail that elevates the bottle and turns it into a true object of desire.

The result is a timeless brand that not only looks good, but feels important. A promise of the quality that awaits inside.
